UCI Health Sciences encompasses the Susan and Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences and UCI Health — the region's only academic health system — as well as numerous institutes, centers and groups known for groundbreaking research and novel treatments that power advances in individual and population health.

College of Health Sciences

The Susan and Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences (COHS) is the first in the nation to focus on interdisciplinary integrative health. The Samuelis' recent $200-million naming gift — the seventh-largest to a single public university — positions the university as a bold, new leader in population health, patient care, education and research.

The college comprises the School of Medicine, the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing, the School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Department of Population Health & Disease Prevention, which is soon to become the School of Population Health. These four entities not only develop the health leaders of tomorrow, they also conduct a broad range of educational, research and clinical activities aimed at advancing the understanding and treatment of disease, as well as improving the health of individuals and populations.

Each has an impressive portfolio of accomplishments and its faculty members reflect a deep commitment to excellence in research, education, clinical care and public service.

With the consolidation of these entities into a single college, UCI Health Sciences is uniquely poised to transform the future of healthcare by taking a truly innovative and inter-professional approach to improving individual and population health.
